Accurately Determine Production Requirements
Figuring
production requirements as part of your search
for the correct labeling system.
You
should figure out your production requirements
for bottles per minute (bpm) as part of your
search for the labeling system that will be the
best match for your needs. Getting this number
wrong in either direction, over or under, could
lead to a much larger expense for your company.
Another important thing to know when purchasing
a labeling system is the label size or sizes
that you will need to use. You need to determine
both the largest and smallest height possible
for your production needs, as well as the
longest width you will need to accommodate.
Different labeling heads will be able to
accommodate specific label widths. While the
industry standard is 10 inches long, there are
some wraparound labelers which can accommodate
lengths up to 18 inches long. Check with your
label system manufacturer to see which models
are readily in stock. If there is no stock label
head available to meet your needs you can
purchase larger or smaller heads, are usually
priced according to size and have a five to six
week delivery window.
