Today’s
technology makes it possible to print labels on
a huge variety of materials. The only issue is
that they will not all provide the same results
on labeling equipment. A quality labeling system
has a highly sensitive label sensor that is able
to detect minute changes in the light as the
space between labels goes through the sensor.
While this works great for a variety of
materials, including plastic, foil, and paper,
it is not very effective on clear labels. Clear
plastic labels really require the use of a
capacitive sensor, which is usually available
for an extra charge and works well with almost
all other label types as well, with the
exception of foil. It is always wise to know
what applications you will need the machine to
perform prior to purchasing one.
